Gerber Collision & Glass Acquires Three Repair Centers in Hawaii

Chicago, Illinois – May 11, 2021 – The Boyd Group Inc. (the “Boyd Group”) announced the acquisition of three collision repair centers in Hawaii. This marks the Boyd Group’s entry into its 30th state in the U.S.

These locations in Kaneohe, Wahiawa and Waipahu previously operated as Sigs Collision Centers, originating in 1976 in Waipahu and under most recent ownership since 2006. The Wahiawa location was added in 2007 and Kaneohe in 2017. All are on the island of Oahu, which is the third largest of the Hawaiian Islands and home to approximately one million people, about two-thirds of Hawaii’s overall population. A five-hour flight west from Los Angeles, Oahu is home to Honolulu, the largest city in Hawaii and the state capital, in addition to Pearl Harbor and the iconic Waikiki Beach.

Kaneohe is approximately 12 miles northeast of Honolulu and one of the largest residential communities on the windward (eastern) side of the island. Kaneohe is along Kaneohe Bay, which is known for calm water and popular for boating, fishing, diving and kayaking.Approximately 21 miles north of Honolulu, Wahiawa is in the “central valley” area, located between the two volcanic mountains that comprise the island. Wahiawa is surrounded on three sides by Lake Wilson and accessible by two bridges. Many U.S. military facilities are nearby including Schofield Barracks which in itself is larger than Wahiawa. Waipahu is located approximately 15 miles northwest of Honolulu and just north of Pearl Harbor on the northern shore of both Middle Loch and West Loch (lakes) of Pearl Harbor.

“Aloha and welcome to our newest team members who come aboard with a strong reputation for providing outstanding customer service and high-quality repairs,” said Kevin Burnett, COO of Gerber Collision & Glass. “We look forward to introducing our brand to these communities and further assisting our insurance partners in these markets as we expand to a new state.”

The Boyd Group is continuously looking to add new collision repair locations to its existing network in Canada and the U.S. Interested collision repair center owners are asked to contact Jason Hope at the coordinates below for more information.
